Terms & Conditions
Camping Untamed is the provider of this holiday. By making a holiday booking you accept the following Terms & Conditions:
The Greener Campingclub
To comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. When you book your stay, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs £12 for the camping season and gives you access to over 180 of the greenest campsites in the UK. Since its foundation in 2015, every year at least 10% of Club membership revenue is invested in environmental projects at its campsites. This includes tree and hedge planting, wildflower meadow creation and the provision of nesting boxes and bat boxes.
Payment
We request a full payment when booking a camping pitch. Please note that this includes full payment for your Greener Camping Club membership.
Cancellation by You
If you cancel your holiday six weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund you 50 % of the total cost, not included the Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable). If you cancel your holiday less than six weeks before your arrival date no refund will be made. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance.
Cancellation by Us
Camping Untamed reserves the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Camping Untamed cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.
Children & Risks
There are many opportunities for play and adventure on site. But because Camping Untamed is surrounded by working farms there are contingent risks to be aware of. Camping Untamed lays on a minor road where tractors and cars are passing. Also, we are a dog-friendly campsite, where dogs are frequently allowed to be off-lead. We allow campfires, we have an axe for making kindling and splitting firewood, there is a shallow stream as run-off from the road, neighbours have horses and sheep, we make hay in the summer - so there are tractors around, the woodland footpaths may have tripping hazards such as badger or foxholes in them and the campsite is surrounded by spiky hedges and shrubs. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask! Camping Untamed accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.
Arrival & Departure Times
Arrival time is between 3pm and 8pm. Please call us if you think you may arrive later so that we can make suitable arrangements. On departure day, please vacate your camping pitch by 11am.
Cars & Campervans
The speed limit while on Camping Untamed is 5 mph. Cars must be parked in the car park only. If you arrive in a campervan, you can also park in the car park - please note that it is not flat. If you need, please use the wheelbarrow to transport your gear.
Consideration for Others
This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow car radios, Bluetooth speakers or any other amplified music - and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.30pm. Acoustic instruments, such as guitars, harmonicas, flutes etc can be played before then. Noisy visitors who persistently disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund (this has never needed to happen).
Recycling & Rubbish
A condition of camping here is that you take some of your rubbish home. Bins for compost waste and dog litter, and a box for cardboard, paper and glass are provided. Other recycling wate and landfill must be taken off the site. Please do not leave punctured airbeds, broken tents, folding chairs, kites etc. here.
Campfires
Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. Camping Untamed accepts no liability for injury or damage caused by your campfire. By lighting it you accept full responsibility for it.
Day Visitors
Day visitors are only permitted by prior agreement. Fees may apply.
Property Loss
Camping Untamed cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.
Smokers
All undercover facilities are strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or jar (which is available in the honesty cupboard for free).
Dogs
Dogs are permitted and welcome. I have a little dog Watson that will bark at you when you arrive but she is harmless. If you take your dog, these are the dog rules: Your dog must be under full control at all times and must not run free around the land. Dog poo must be bagged and binned. When walking the paths around the farm your dog must be on a lead. This is because there are domestic animals around. Off-lead play time is permitted only with agreement with all involved and only under supervision. All dog breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are prohibited.
The Weather
In common with all of wild west Wales, this campsite can be subjected to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year, though we are fortunate in that we do not flood. You must ensure that your tent is robust and correctly erected - and avoid pitching in any obvious dips. If extreme weather is forecast during your stay we will alert you. For an up to date local forecast see the BCC Weather Forecast here.
